Zito’s contract with the Giants guaranteed him a suite on the road. I wonder if that was cutting edge? He also had the chance to earn big bonuses for CYs. Well, I’ll stop there. No more Zito bashing, since 2012.

I always remember Scott Brown’s contract stipulations with the Dodgers. The private plane thing was so affected and LA. I assumed that it was just Brown’s little Hollywood fantasy come to life, although he did absolutely nothing beyond that one good contract year for the Braves. I was happy that he gouged the Dodgers at the time.

RIP indeed. Great artist. I always think of Belushi’s nice homage to him back in the day when SNL was still watchable.

I missed this (until right now). That’s too bad. Joe Cocker dead, succumbing to lung cancer. He was still touring as late as last year. I like Paul McCartney’s observation that he was “forever grateful” to Joe for turning the Beatles song into a “soul anthem”.

Joe Cocker was the man! Have a little faith in me.
