Just an Observation and then a Question:

I posted on the “Hot Stove, Links & the kitchen sink for 11-13-2014” topic yesterday morning (11-15-14) and see my post comes with the one caveat; i.e.,

    “Your comment is awaiting moderation.
    November 15, 2014 at 10:28 am”

It is now 11-16-14 at 8:35 am and my comment still awaits moderation.

I assume posts awaiting moderation remain unseen / non-reviewable by others, yes?

That’s really weird that you’d get such a message, being a long time poster and all. Nonetheless, it has been approved. But I don’t see it. Perhaps your post is very shy at the moment?

I agree – very odd – and the comment approval system took almost 24 hours … but, I see it as the 5th comment now.

Since it still appears invisible for now, here it is for all it’s vacuousness and mindless attempt at consuming virtual WordPress space and equally precious bandwidth:

The Cole Hammels story is a good one (see Anna’s link). Cole has a guaranteed contract of $96 Million for his remaining 4 years with the Phillies, but given the money or playing on a winning team, he appears to long for the latter. The lesson herein, is that for all those extended contract years a player might seek, it comes with the decided caveat of getting stuck with an albatross of a team. Lengthy contracts limit a player’s freedom to move … forward in one’s career – choose another path – as opposed to stagnating and enjoying less attention / adulation on a team going nowhere.

I suspect Hammels isn’t alone – Alex Rodriguez, perhaps, being an exception. That being, most players would give up some of the money in exchange for playing on a winning team – one that enjoys team chemistry, character, and camaraderie.

The lesson herein to Cano, Hammels, and all the others with lengthy contracts: Be careful what you wish for.

While it must hurt like hell to lose a finger, I’m pretty sure there are those out there, who, at no charge to anyone, might like to give Canseco a three finger freebie.
