Last week of Hot Stove! (2/4 – Pitchers and Catchers Report) + SharkS

I know that our fearless leader JD will write a post-mortem on the team. Meanwhile, I thought it would be nice to get out of the previous thread, where some of us were still hopeful for #6.

We have a good 14 days until pitchers and catchers report, and I know of some who have vowed to not watch ESPN until that time. (Why were you watching the Eastern Sports Poker Network anyway? They suck and will scour an east coast garbage can to report crap in lieu of real news from the west coast. And do you really want the main sports network to be owned by a giant rat?) While we wait to hear Lincecum’s fastball pop into Buster Posey’s mitt, why not give hockey a try? You have to love a sport where players sacrifice their front teeth for their team. The San Jose Sharks have been providing some of the best entertainment in the past five years or so, and Logan Couture even does some Kaepernicking after scoring a goal. Go Sharks!

Well…just in case you need cheering up:

At least that little boy is safe and with his family.. Some good news.

Here’s a few more laughs for the afternoon…Mr. Moneyball is at it again!

    • Chico says:

The Astros got over on Beane, imo..

      • JDR says:

Lowrie is useful as a middle infielder when he’s healthy, though if any of those prospects catch on it will look like Beane lost. If two of them catch on he’ll look like a fool. Of course, all three could in fact be burnt out already and Billy pulled one over on Houston. Lord knows we’ve seen Sabean do that on more than one occasion.

Billy Boy has figured out if you are branded a genius and you keep the same players you eventually are expected to win, but if you keep changing pieces you can peddle being a year or two away from winning the Title.

Anyone heard anything about Lincecum’s offseason? I sure hope he’s put on some weight.

  5. JDR says:

The Ramirez signing is interesting. It could be a steal if he throws like he did in 2010. If not, it’s a minor league contract so no big deal.

  6. datswhatsup says:

“There is no story here. I did NOT buy PEDs from those guys. I simply hired them to consult on how to beat the rap when I got busted using PEDs I got from those other guys. Sheesh.”

He should just hand that MVP trophy to the rightful owner, Matt Kemp. I hate the Dodgers, but ex Mr. Rihanna deserved it.
