Will there be any moral victories in losing to Dallas?

Thew cowpukes make their way to the Stick today, and we’re left to ponder the nature of the 49ers and their relationship with the rest of the league.

Most notably, what do we take away if the Niners lose? Obviously it will be a disappointment, but will there be any room for moral victories? Dallas has been considered a contender in recent years, but they’re also coming off an (injury-aided) 6-10 season and the o-line is starting two guys who were picked up in the scrub rounds (one 7th round and an UFA.)

So if they do lose to Dallas, will it be considered an unmitigated failure, or a learning experience in the rebuilding process? Are we far enough along to expect the Niners to beat Dallas? Will Alex Smith find a new and inventive way to step on his own dick today? Will we be able to stick with beer, or will getting through the game require a visit from Jose Cuervo? These and other pressing questions will be answered on September 18…

Harbaugh will never accept “moral victories” and neither will the players. This game is a test of their skill level as a team early in the season. They better be a whole lot better by the end of it.

We’ll learn a lot about this team today. I’m on like 3 hours sleep (flew in from the south this morning) but I expect a good game and I’m up for it. My wife got 2 job offers (she’s sick of the state budget cuts) but now she want’s to look overseas.. Yes, that’s right, Chico might be blogging on JDR from another country soon. Not that I’m happy about it, but she has dreams.

I have faith in Harbaugh and the coaching staff to have this team ready to play.. Go Niners, & Giants.

Europe? The UK is nice if you’re open to soccer and willing to commute. I have a couple friends in Hong Kong who like it as well, but they teach English so they’re pretty invested in it.

    • Chico says:

Prague and Berlin mainly. She also has some leads in Panama.. She specializes in a particular medical field that is relatively new but fast advancing. I don’t know what the fuck I’ll do over there; daddy day care perhaps or maybe even the tourism industry. All of this is still pretty new so we have some time to think about it.. Strange days in my household.. English speaking schools are a must though.. The cool thing about Europe and some other parts of the world is they sign you to a 3, 5, 10 year contract so job security is cool. I really don’t want to leave to be honest.. There is no surfing in Prague or Berlin, but it’s doable in Panama! We’ll see.

One nice thing about Europe is that vacation time starts at 6 weeks, so there is ample opportunity to travel. Is there any surfing on the Mediterranean?

        • Chico says:

I haven’t had time to look into it to be honest. I would imagine so.. A buddy of mine got married in Turkey right on the Mediterranean and he brought his board.. That’s the part where all the Greek islands are, and the Turks and the Greeks are always arguing over whose is whose..

Another place on her radar is Switzerland.. FREEZING but a great quality of life.. All of this is still young though so we’ll see. 6 weeks Vaca would be nice.. She has family in Spain right on the Mediterranean as well as Madrid.

Whatever happens, if we move, I’ll be in for some serious culture shock. I’m not the traveler. My idea of traveling is camping or staying at my Uncle’s house on Maui and just relaxing. After we pay some of our parent’s bills (they have fallen on hard times) in this economy, we’re middle – lower middle class people. We’re not snobby yuppies or anything, but she’s just looking for a change in lifestyle without having to work 14 hour days.. People talk about the “BRAIN-DRAIN” because of budget cuts, it’s real. I just hope the state finds adequate funding for U.C., so I don’t have to move..

          Beat the Cokeboys!

I’ve spent a lot of time on the Côte d’Azur. Not a lot of surfable waves (but what do I know). However, nude beaches.

Europe would be very nice, especially since the rail system is fast and extensive.

Haven’t gone to Panama but spent three weeks in neighboring Costa Rica. Very very very nice place, and you can’t go wrong with two coasts. Heard the food wasn’t that great as there is too much American junk food mixed in with Panamanian fare.

Sounds like a good deal either way, Chico. I wish you the best :>

    Yay Cainer!

  4. Chico says:

I know the Rockies pitcher Reynolds.. He was younger than me but I played ball with his older brother Ryan.. Pretty cool hah! Crawford took him deep!

  5. Nipper says:

    Ouch! Niners lose.

  6. Chico says:

Couldn’t we just set up in a prevent Defense and only rush 3??

Fucking Niners man, they knew what was coming but couldn’t stop it! Shits. At least we all know how the shamer feels..

No comment. That was just fucking brutal….back to back Bay Area football heart-breakers. Wow.

  8. mailorderwife says:

Okay…I need to take care of this before I head to Japan. Listen up and remember last year’s Poodres series that determined the NL West champs: I have tickets for Monday’s game against the Rockies on the 26th. Two tickets, per usual. Be careful MOB.. A category 3 typhoon is headed that way and it looks like Yokohama and Tokyo are going to take a direct hit. Safe travels.
