Big saturday night matchup

Tonight it’s Lincecum/Kennedy in what could be the biggest game of the season. If Timmy comes through it’s a 4-game deficit and the race is on. If he loses it’s back up to six and Arizona has a clear path to the playoffs.

If there’s one guy you want on the mound for a game like this, it’s Timmy. Despite having an up and down year, he’s still Tim friggin’ Lincecum and you know he’s going to be bringing it. The bigger question, of course, is the offense. They looked damn good last night and if Beltran really is heating up he could carry them down the stretch.

So what if Timmy does lay an egg and the D-bags leave town up seven games? Is it time to play the kids, and which ones do you play? Surely Belt gets some good time and Surkamp gets another start or two, but who else? Ford and Burriss are nice to have on the bases, but at this point it looks like Gary Brown is the pick to succeed Torres. Hector Sanchez could get a look as the long-term backup catcher, though Whiteside and Stewart don’t look to be going anywhere.

No looking ahead to the future yet. Look game to game. Hell, inning to inning. Lincecum’s looking good so far tonight. The offense shows signs of life.

Ugh. Looks like i picked a good night to go out to dinner. This sucks.

  4. Just got back…long day and evening…

Wilcox got KILLED by Serra-52-6, SJS got reamed by Stanford, Fresno St was humiliated by Cal and my only saving grace is a mixed bag-LA beat Atl in the tenth…

    WTF happened to Timmy, btw?

College football is a joke at times. I want to see the best against the best all year, not the best playing the worst and then a few competitive games thrown in there for rankings sake. Some players are fun to watch no matter who they’re playing though, Luck being one of them.

Well, what can I say. Arizona beat our best pitcher, and as they say, may the best man win. I just checked out the gate, it consisted of 90% trolls at least. I don’t think I’ll ever mention that site on here again. It’s time to let it die and move on.. Personally it was a bittersweet day; my C-FB teams won and the teams I hate lost, but Giants baseball is my passion and my drink is now half empty. Whatever happens, it was a hell of a season and I won’t forget this year or last year. Just gotta hold our heads high and keep on ‘truckin. I hope you enjoyed your night out Ugly and thank you very much for creating place once again. Being defeated is often a temporary condition. Giving up is what makes it permanent.

I’ve been cheering the Giants since I was tiny, listening or watching the game until the last pitch of the season. I’ll savor and enjoy the boys no matter what, so I hope they win today!

  8. Chico says:

    Lets go Giants.

  9. Wow, two days has yielded nine, now ten, posts!

    How bout Scott Tolzien? 🙂

  10. Chico says:

    Time to play the kids..

Hey…great season still despite the injuries. Now that it’s clear what the Giants need for hereon, get to work Sabes! Meanwhile, play the kids and let everyone have a great time.

On an even brighter note, the 49ers are in second place!! What’s there to be sad about?

I said I wouldn’t bring up the Crash again but seriously, there are some fucked up individuals on that site. Now someone is accusing us of all being the same person? You know, I have said in the past that sfgate should require a credit card number to post or even read the comments. Personally, that would help me know who the fuck is who over there. That place is a bad trip.

    Happy Labor Day!

  13. Chico says:

    Ballgame! Cheers.

Cheers!!!!!! Nice game, and good to see the young ones. Plenty of baseball left, and lots to look foward to in the future.
